• Loosen the plunger retaining nut five to six turns using a 13 mm wrench
• Push the plunger towards the retaining screw to separate it from the crankcase
• Remove the nut from the plunger and examine the bearing/gasket washer, O-ring, backup ring, and copper washer; replace as necessary using kit 801474
• Remove the plunger and flinger from the plunger shaft, clean, examine, and replace parts as needed
• Inspect the plunger shaft for oil leakage; if leaking is obvious, replace the oil seals (do not remove seals unless necessary)
• Lightly grease the flinger and oil seal if being replaced, then reassemble
• Retorque the plug after 5 hours of operation
