Installation Notes:

• Inspect piston rod and sleeve for wear before installation; replace if necessary
• Soak leather packings in oil before reassembling the pump
• Stack components in the correct order: backup washer, seal, female gland, leather packings, plastic packings, and male gland
• Tighten packing retaining nut to 0.35 N.m (4 in-lb)
• Apply adhesive to piston valve threads and hand tighten into piston rod until nut contacts the rod
• Maintain alignment of piston to nut during installation
• Use two wrenches to carefully tighten the jam nut against the piston rod to 26 N.m (19 ft-lb)
