• Install a fluid drain valve near the fluid outlet
• Install a shutoff valve in the fluid outlet line
• Ventilate pump exhaust air to a remote area if contaminants could affect the fluid supply
• Use a bleed-type master air valve to relieve trapped air between the valve and the pump
• Regularly inspect diaphragms, balls, and seals for wear
• Service the air valve externally without uninstalling the pump
