A CSA B139 inspection is a mandatory compliance check of oil-burning equipment, fuel storage tanks, and fuel supply systems, required under the National Fire Code of Canada and the CSA B139 Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment.
In Alberta, it applies to emergency generators, boilers, fire pumps, and oil-fired appliances at commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial facilities. Without a current inspection, fuel suppliers can, and do, suspend fuel delivery until compliance is restored.
Fuel suppliers will not deliver to a system they cannot verify as compliant.
Generators and fire pumps that fail inspection can be ordered shut down.
Unresolved deficiencies can trigger formal enforcement action from the AHJ.
The longer equipment goes unverified, the more exposure a facility carries.
A current, properly documented CSA B139 inspection, paired with a contractor legally authorized to fix what it finds, removes all four risks at once.
Tell us your equipment and facility type. We schedule around your operations.
Certified technicians assess fuel oil equipment, tanks, and supply systems against NFC and CSA B139 requirements.
You receive detailed findings, code references, and prioritized corrective actions, not a vague pass or fail.
As a CPCA-certified contractor, we're legally authorized to correct deficiencies ourselves, not just flag them for someone else.
We deliver documentation formatted for your fuel supplier, insurer, and AHJ, supporting delivery authorization and regulatory sign-off.
Innoflo holds Petroleum Mechanic (PM) certification, including PM3 for aboveground tank systems. Our technicians are legally authorized under the National Fire Code, Alberta Edition, to install, repair, and maintain the exact fuel tank systems CSA B139 inspections cover.
